A Ski Weekend in Revelstoke BC

My husband and I have a tradition of skiing on his birthday each year and for the last 4 years we’ve made it happen! It’s always a little tricky since his birthday is November 30th, which tends to be on the early end of ski season, but this past year we found ourselves at Revelstoke Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada! Let me say, even for November.. it did not disappoint! I’m talking knee deep powder, incredible views (when the clouds did break), and the cutest village to wander around in afterwards with tired legs.

Getting there:

One of the most beautiful highways I’ve ever been on is the Trans-Canada highway, specifically to Revelstoke. With that being said, it can also be quite sketchy, and Kev (my husband) and I have come to learn that Canadian truck drivers are relentless and fearless even in the dead of winter. So be prepared! There’s no airports in the town of Revelstoke so driving is the only option.

We headed in from the West, and the highway along the mountain lakes, winding rivers and steep mountains cascading directly into the road is seriously unmatched. I could do that drive again and again and never be bored!

Where we stayed:

Being an interior BC resort it tends to get dry and cold quickly so Kev and I were prepared for extreme temps! Unlike the coastal Resorts like Whistler, the temps tend to be a little bit cooler as you head east. We knew a hot tub would be clutch after a day on the hill and we found the perfect airbnb that was dog friendly and had an awesome porch with a hot tub!
Our airbnb location: REVELSTOKE AIRBNB

What to eat:

The skiing was great but I’m actually all about the vibe of the town and where I can get a beer afterwards. It’s always the best part of the day unbuckling the boots and getting to chill. Or at least I think so :) And after making it through deep powder all day I couldn’t wait for some good food and drinks!

A couple of our favorite spots we visited to eat and drink are linked below. We also loved the burger + beers at the Mackenzie Outpost at the top of the Gondola so skip the packed lunch and plan on sitting on their deck and soaking in the view!

Beer: RUMPUS beer had an awesome tap list and a tasty Hazy IPA

Sushi: Kawakubo Sushi was the bomb! Super chill and laid back vibe with good prices and local staff that were fun to chat with. Highly recommend stopping in there!

Coffee / Pastries / Sandwiches: La Baguette OH MAN! Let me just say we wished we would have found this before our heading out on our last day! If you are going to pack a lunch for the hill i’d head here and grab one of their sandwiches.
